WHAT WE BELIEVE
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. - John 3:16-17
We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We affirm Jesus Christ, the second person of the trinity came to earth, was born of a virgin and lived a perfect sinless life. We hold that Jesus suffered and died a sacrificial death on the cross, paying the penalty for the sins of the world. We believe on the third day God bodily raised Him from the dead, and He ascended into heaven. We know Jesus is coming again to judge the living and the dead, and to establish God’s kingdom on earth.
We believe in God’s free gift of grace, through which we have access to God’s forgiveness, acceptance, and salvation solely by faith in Jesus Christ. We assert that in Christ’s finished work on the cross alone is salvation found for He bore the complete penalty for our sins. We cannot earn or work our way to God, Jesus is the only path to God. We believe that if a person confesses with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in their heart that God raised Him from the dead, they are saved to eternal life. There is no other name by which we may be saved.
We believe the Bible is the inspired, authentic and inerrant Word of God. We believe that by studying the Bible and by prayer we may know God and His will.
We believe that marriage is an institution of God’s design and is an exclusive union before God between one man and one woman.
We believe that when a person confesses their sin, repents, and follows Jesus they are filled with God’s Holy Spirit. We desire to live in the fullness of the Spirit.
We believe that we are saved by faith in Jesus alone and not by works or anything we do and when we are saved in Jesus we are changed and our lives will reflect our love for God, following Jesus, powered by the Holy Spirit doing the will of the Father for God’s glory. If we love Jesus we will keep His commands.
We affirm Jesus is returning and we seek to live in eager anticipation of Christ’s return.
